Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Savorful (“Savorful,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Savorful mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you. You may not use the Services if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.

2. What Savorful provides

Savorful is an AI-assisted cooking companion. It can detect likely ingredients from photos, accept typed ingredients and preferences, generate and adjust recipe options, help recreate meals from photos, and answer questions while you cook. If you enable reminders, Savorful can schedule dinner and weekly-planning notifications on your device. Features, limits, and availability may change as the Services evolve.

3. AI output, allergies, and food safety

Recipes, ingredient detection, quantities, timing, and other output are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe for your circumstances, or different from the food pictured. You are responsible for reviewing all output before relying on it.

You agree to:

• verify every ingredient against your allergies and dietary restrictions;
• not rely on photo detection to identify allergens or hidden ingredients;
• follow safe food storage, handling, preparation, and cooking practices;
• check doneness and safe internal temperatures using reliable guidance; and
• use your judgment and stop if an instruction appears unsafe or incorrect.

Savorful does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, allergy, professional, or emergency advice. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your health. If you have a medical emergency, contact local emergency services.

4. Accounts

Savorful currently creates an anonymous account for you without asking for an email address or password. You are responsible for the device and session used to access that account. Anonymous accounts may not be recoverable if the app is deleted, device storage is cleared, or the session is lost.

You may delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes the account and associated Savorful data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services, users, or others, or if you materially violate these Terms.

5. Free use and Savorful Plus

New accounts currently receive five lifetime free generations. Savorful Plus currently includes up to 100 generations during each monthly usage period. For annual subscriptions, the 100-generation allowance resets monthly based on the original purchase date. Unused generations do not roll over, have no cash value, and are not transferable. A generation or scan may be counted when described in the app, including certain repeated unsuccessful scan attempts used to discourage abuse.

Recipe questions and updates are currently included for all users. Each recipe includes up to 15 user messages. A message is counted after Savorful successfully returns an answer or proposed recipe update. The per-recipe allowance has no cash value and is not transferable.

We may change free allowances or limits prospectively. A material change to a paid plan will apply only as permitted by law and the applicable app store rules. The exact price, billing period, trial terms, and plan details presented in Apple’s purchase sheet at the time of purchase control over conflicting promotional text.

6. Auto-renewable subscriptions

Savorful Plus is offered through Apple as an auto-renewable monthly or annual subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Unless canceled, the subscription automatically renews for the same period, and Apple charges your account within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid period unless Apple states otherwise.

Purchases, refunds, billing disputes, and subscription management are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and policies. Savorful does not receive your full payment-card details and cannot issue App Store refunds. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends, as disclosed in Apple’s purchase sheet.

Deleting your Savorful account or the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel the subscription separately through Apple if you do not want future charges. Deleting an account may cause you to lose Savorful access associated with that account even if time remains in a subscription; you may need to use Restore Purchases with a new account where available.

7. License and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms, Savorful grants you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Services for lawful personal purposes on devices you own or control and as allowed by applicable app-store rules.

You may not:

• use the Services unlawfully or to harm, threaten, or deceive anyone;
• submit content you lack the right to use;
• probe, disrupt, overload, bypass, or interfere with the Services or security controls;
• circumvent generation limits, purchase controls, or access restrictions;
• reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or extract the Services except where law expressly permits;
• use automated means to access the Services without written permission;
• introduce malware or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data; or
• misrepresent AI output as verified professional, medical, or safety advice.

8. Your content

You retain any rights you have in photos, text, preferences, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant Savorful a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, adapt, and process User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for limited backup, security, legal, or deidentified copies permitted by the Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit User Content and that doing so does not violate law or another person’s rights. Do not submit confidential or highly sensitive content that is unnecessary for a cooking request.

9. Generated output

Subject to these Terms and to the extent permitted by law, you may use recipe output generated for you for personal or commercial purposes. AI output may not be unique; other users may receive similar output. We do not promise that output is original, noninfringing, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing how you use or publish it and for complying with applicable law and third-party rights.

10. Savorful intellectual property

The Services, including software, branding, design, text, graphics, and other materials provided by Savorful, are owned by Savorful or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, these Terms grant no right in Savorful’s marks, technology, or content.

11. Third-party services

The Services depend on third parties such as Apple, RevenueCat, Supabase, OpenAI, Vercel, PostHog, Expo, and Crisp. Their separate terms and policies may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, content, or conduct to the extent permitted by law.

12. Feedback

If you send ideas or feedback, you grant Savorful a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or compensation, while we remain responsible for handling personal information under the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes, availability, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable usage limits, or update these Terms. We will post revised Terms and update the effective date, and will provide additional notice of material changes when reasonably appropriate. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where law requires express consent.

You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, disputes, and accrued payment obligations—will survive.

14. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL GENERATED OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SAVORFUL DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND SAFETY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY RECIPE OR DETECTED INGREDIENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOU. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAVORFUL AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, FOOD PREPARATION, ALLERGIC REACTIONS, USER CONTENT, OR GENERATED OUTPUT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAVORFUL’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SAVORFUL THROUGH THE APPLICABLE APP STORE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.

16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Savorful and its affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your User Content, or your material violation of these Terms. This does not require you to indemnify a party for its own unlawful conduct and does not limit nonwaivable consumer rights.

17. Governing law and disputes

Before filing a formal claim, you and Savorful agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute by emailing a written description to support@savorful.app and allowing 30 days for a response. This informal step does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief and does not extend a legal filing deadline.

Except where the consumer-protection laws where you live require otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. State and federal courts located in New York County, New York will have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory rights or a forum available under the laws where you reside.

18. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained Savorful through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreementapplies in addition to these Terms. If these Terms conflict with that agreement on a matter governed by it, the Apple agreement controls. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Savorful. Apple has no warranty obligation except as required by the applicable App Store terms. Apple is not responsible for product claims, legal-compliance claims, consumer-protection claims, or third-party intellectual-property claims relating to Savorful. You represent that you are not located in a U.S.-embargoed country or on a U.S. government prohibited-party list. You must comply with applicable third-party agreement terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you.

19. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Savorful regarding the Services, subject to applicable App Store terms. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; Savorful may assign them in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law.
